Founded in Toronto, Canada in 1979, Butler Engineering has spent more than four decades advancing Fire & Life Safety, property protection and engineering compliance across complex projects and diverse jurisdictions.
With regional headquarters in Dubai and operations across the Middle East, Butler combines international engineering experience with deep knowledge of local authorities, codes and project realities. Our work spans Fire & Life Safety consultancy, engineering, independent inspection, testing, commissioning, audits and specialist compliance services across the complete project lifecycle.
As a Civil Defence-licensed House of Expertise across key regional jurisdictions and an ISO/IEC 17020 accredited inspection body, Butler operates with a level of independence and accountability appropriate to the projects entrusted to us.
Our experience goes beyond applying codes. Butler’s leadership has contributed to the development and implementation of regional Fire & Life Safety requirements, giving our teams a perspective shaped not only by understanding regulations, but by understanding the principles behind them.
Across every project, our objective remains simple: turn complex requirements into practical engineering solutions, help project teams navigate compliance efficiently and protect what matters most — people, property and continuity.
Simplicity is our way. Quality is our signature.

To be an exemplary leader in creating a fire-free tomorrow.
Simplicity is our way. Quality is our signature.
Complex problems do not require complicated solutions. We believe the best engineering makes complexity understandable, decisions clearer and compliance easier to achieve; without compromising safety, quality or technical integrity.
Simplicity is our way. Codes, authority requirements and project constraints can become complicated quickly. We turn them into clear engineering decisions and practical next steps.
Quality is our signature. From Burj Khalifa and Dubai Metro to international airports and next-generation infrastructure such as the Stargate Gigawatt AI Supercluster, Butler Engineering has contributed to landmark projects where quality, complexity, scale and consequence leave no room for compromise.
Our approach considers applicable codes, project requirements and authority expectations from the beginning, reducing avoidable comments, redesign and delays later.
Decades of working and high credibility with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, including Civil Defense, have given our teams a deep understanding of how Fire & Life Safety requirements are interpreted and applied in practice.
As an independent third party, our judgement is driven by safety, compliance, engineering evidence and the needs of the project.
From concept and design to construction, inspection, testing, commissioning and existing-building compliance, Butler can remain involved throughout.
We do more than identify problems. We work with project teams to understand them, resolve them and move the project forward.
